As you know, the Hours of Service (HOS) regulations in the United States are in place to help ensure commercial drivers that share the highway with the motor public are safe.
In basic terms, the HOS rules regulate the maximum number of hours that can be driven, with prescribed mandatory break time, off-duty times, and duty cycles for drivers. That being said, the rules are quite different for property-carrying vehicles compared to passenger-carrying drivers in the United States.
